    Description

Ian Fleming. The Man with the Golden Gun. London: Jonathan Cape, [1965]. First edition, uncorrected proof. Octavo (7.375 x 5 inches; 185 x 128 mm.). 221, [3, blank] pages. Publisher's perfect binding in original wrappers, printed green, patterned with repeating publisher's urn device in white, title printed in black on the front wrapper and backstrip. In original dust jacket, designed by Richard Chopping, proof issue with "Proof Only" printed on the front flap. Spine leaning and rolled with some lightly creasing; trace edgewear with some very soft creasing; shallow ripple to the front wrapper near the joint. Front hinge strengthened with half-title leaf gutter-margin glued to the front wrapper (distinct from the final blank and rear wrapper); short closed tear to the bottom edge of the half-title. Dust jacket oversized with wear and creasing along the upper edge, as expected; folds creased with some light wear and tiny nicks to the bottom edge; spine panel a touch dulled; four tiny blots to the rear panel; diagonal crease to front flap. Very good. One of 600 copies (and 578 proof jackets), issued late 1964. Gilbert A13a (Uncorrected Proof Copies). From the Collection of Daniel J. King.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
