    Ian Fleming. On Her Majesty's Secret Service. London: Jonathan Cape, [1963]. First edition, uncorrected proof. Octavo (7.875 x 5 inches; 187 x 126 mm.). 288 pages. Publisher's perfect binding in original wrappers, printed green, patterned with repeating publisher's urn device in white, title printed in black on the front wrapper and backstrip. In original dust jacket, designed by Richard Chipping, "Proof Only" printed on the front flap. Spine creased, particularly between the first two gatherings; wrappers lightly creased at corners with soft crease across the front panel; light soiling to bottom margin of front wrapper. Top edge of text block foxed, bottom edge with a few small splashes; front joint starting. Dust jacket edges lightly worn; crown chipped with small bit of paper loss reattached with paper tape on the verso (not affecting any lettering); folds lightly worn; rear panel very lightly soiled. An attractive, very good copy; housed in a custom clamshell case. One of 500 copies, issued in October of 1962.
