Publisher's black cloth, spine lettered in gilt with publisher's device in gilt at foot, front board stamped in blind with drawing of a skull, a single fifty-dollar gold piece stamped in gilt in each eye socket, second state without the small detail stamped in upper-left portion of skull; all edges trimmed; plain white endpapers. In original first-issue dust jacket designed by Richard Chopping, with nineteen-line blurb on the front flap. Spine leaning somewhat; extremities very lightly worn; corners softly tapped. Dust jacket edges lightly worn, particularly at spine ends and fold edges, with two small paper tape repairs addressing small chips applied to the verso at the crown; spine panel just a shade dulled; rear panel lightly soiled with a minor stain between the Live and Let Die and Casino Royale blurbs.
