Advance reading copy. Inscribed by the author to Otto Penzler on the front free endpaper: "For Caroline and/Otto Penzler,/This is/my third book,/written in the darkest /days of World War II/Helen McCloy/December 6, 1980". Octavo. 278 pages. Publisher's printed wrappers. Spine creased and worn, wrappers worn, with some chipping and some tears. Publisher's ink stamp with publication date on front free endpaper. Endleaves a bit toned, wrinkled, and thumbsoiled. Still, a very good copy of this rare and fragile item, with a superb association and inscription.
