Publisher's full red cloth; spine stamped in gilt; front stamped in blind. Original illustrated dust jacket. Top and fore-edge trimmed; bottom untrimmed. Spine slightly skewed; very minor shelf wear at extremities of binding; spine ends gently pushed; top edge darkened; faint tidemark at upper corner of front board; light rubbing. Top and bottom edges of text block dust-soiled; normal age toning. Slight discoloration to endpapers with tidemark at front pastedown and ink stains at rear gutter. Fairly large chips to edges of exposed panels of jacket; loss to flap folds (possibly detached at some point) with a small gouge at front joint fold; general rubbing and soiling; pink damp stain at top of front flap. Several tape repairs and areas of tape residue at verso, at edges of front panel and rear flap fold. About near fine book in a very good jacket. With red leather book label of Florence and Edward Kaye affixed to front pastedown.
