    Fredric Brown. The Fabulous Clipjoint. New York: E. P. Dutton & Company, 1947. First edition, signed by the author on the title-page. Octavo. 224 pages. Publisher's light blue cloth, spine lettered in gray, front board stamped in gray, in original dust jacket. Shallow spine ridge, with just a minor forward slope; spine ends and corners lightly worn; a couple small bumps to the top edge; upper portion of front board and backstip very faintly dulled; faint cosmetic scuffs to rear board. Lower portion of front hinge just starting and slightly over-opened at title-page; rear hinge starting as well. A very good copy in a defective dust jacket with a large round tear to spine and front panels; sizeable paper loss; some other minor wear to edges and folds; occasional light rubbing or soiling. The first Ed and Am Hunter novel. Brown's first mystery and winner of the Edgar Award for best first novel in 1948.

Publisher's red paper-covered boards, spine and front board lettered in black, front board stamped in black, in original just jacket. Bottom edge of boards, as well as upper corners and crown lightly worn. Faint browning to the endpapers from binding glue. Dust jacket spine panel very faintly dulled in pink sections with very soft bisecting crease; light wear to edges and folds with some light soiling at the joint folds. A beautiful, near fine copy. The second Ed and Am Hunter mystery. From the KoKo Collection.
