    More Information: Frederick Irving Anderson. The Notorious Sophie Lang. London: William Heinemann Ltd., 1925. First edition. Inscribed, "To George [--] / with compliments / of the Author / F. I. A. / July 1937." Octavo. [6], 312 pages. Publisher's full red cloth; front ruled in blind; spine lettered in gilt. All edges trimmed. Minor skew to spine; slight wear at edges, joints and spine ends; minimal loss of gilt. Regular toning to edges and interior of text block. Apparent repair at front pastedown, in all likelihood occurred when added free endpaper with author inscription was tipped in. Very good with a clean interior. Sophie Lang, international jewel thief, would go on to be the subject of a film series in the mid-1930's, portrayed by Gertrude Michael. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
