Fergus Hume. Group of Three Digby, Long & Co. Books. London: 1901-1909. First editions.Fergus Hume. The Crime of the Crystal. London: Digby, Long & Co., 1901. First edition. Octavo. viii, 396, 14 [publisher's ads], [2] pages. Publisher's yellow cloth, spine and front stamped in red, black, light blue and white; all text block edges trimmed. Spine ends rumpled, with just a trace of wear at extremities and minimal loss to black lettering at foot; boards rubbed with visible loss to colored stamping at front; minor bit of wear and soiling at top and bottom edges; lower corners slightly tapped. Text block edges foxed; top edge darkened just a shade; endpapers slightly foxed with some minor discoloration from offsetting, with previous owner inking at front free endpaper; a few faint smudges or spots of foxing scattered at margins throughout. Very good.
[Together with:] The Red Window. London: Digby, Long & Co., 1904. First edition. Octavo. vii, [1], 311, [1], 32 [publisher's ads] pages. Frontispiece. Publisher's red cloth, spine lettered in gilt, front stamped in white and black; all text block edges trimmed. Mild lean to spine; spine ends softened and worn, with tiny amount of fraying starting at foot; backstrip slightly faded; wear along joints, rear joint ends bumped; rubbing to boards; a bit of wear along edges; corners bumped. Text block edges faintly dulled and foxed; endpapers lightly foxed, with previous owner penciling at front free endpaper; minor foxing scattered throughout interior. Very good.

Publisher's dark blue cloth, spine stamped in red and black, front stamped in red, black, white and gray; all text block edges trimmed. Spine leaning; spine ends pushed and just a bit worn; backstrip rippled, with a bit of loss to lettering at foot; joints slightly worn; light rubbing to boards with some speckle-soiling and smudging, particularly at rear; mild wear along edges; corners bumped. Text block edges softly yellowed from age; edges foxed; top edge slightly darkened with a tiny amount of soiling; bottom and fore-edge with some small gouges, bumps, and scratches, affecting page edges and corners; endpapers a bit discolored from aging binder's glue and offsetting, with previous owner signature at front pastedown; spine split between free endpapers and first and final leaves of text block, but still sound; handful of spots of foxing and soiling, with occasional faint pencil mark, scattered throughout interior. Very good.
