    Ernest Bramah. The Specimen Case. London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1924. First edition, with signed slip laid in. Octavo. 320 pages. Publisher's full red cloth; spine lettered in black; front stamped in gilt. Original illustrated dust jacket. All edges trimmed. Mild shelf wear at extremities of bindings; top edge a bit soiled; minor rubbing and soiling to boards; spine ends softened. Top edge of text block slightly dust-soiled; normal age toning to remaining edges with a few small scratches and a spot or two of staining. Uneven toning and light wear with a bit of rippling to endpapers. Large chunk torn out of rear panel of jacket, reinforced with paper; slight paper loss at spine and flap fold ends, with tape repair at head of rear flap and a small hole at front flap fold; general rubbing and light soiling. Several tape repairs and reinforcements at verso. Near fine in a very good jacket. Contains a Kai Lung and a Max Carrados story.

Top edge trimmed; others untrimmed. Creasing and paper loss to wrappers; backstrip chipped away at joints and ends with several long splits running vertically in direction of gatherings; general rubbing. Top edge dust-soiled; age toning and rubbing to remaining edges. Several leaves roughly opened at fore-edges; scattered, mostly marginal spot and thumbsoiling scattered throughout text block.
