    More Information: Ernest Bramah. Max Carrados. London: Meuten & Co. Ltd., 1914. First edition. Octavo. [6], 296, 8, 31, [1] pages. Publisher's full red cloth, front and spine stamped in gilt. Top edge trimmed; others untrimmed. Spine slightly skewed; fairly mild wear at edges and joints; spine ends softened with short split at bottom end; short split to cloth at head of front joint; minor soiling. Edges of text block age-toned with minor dust-soiling. Normal toning to interior of text block; a handful of pages creased at lower corner; a few spot-stains, including a moderately-sized tea stain at page 129; bookseller's ticket and date stamp at rear pastedown. Previous owner's bookplate tipped to front pastedown. Very good. First appearance in book form of Max Carrados, Bramah's blind sleuth, whose stories regularly appeared in The Strand Magazine with those of Sherlock Holmes. Queen's Quorum 56.
