    More Information:

Erle Stanley Gardner. The Case of the Drowsy Mosquito. New York: William Morrow, 1943. First edition. Presentation copy, warmly inscribed by Gardner to his secretary and future wife, Agnes "Jean" Bethell.

Inscribed on front free endpaper: "To/Jean/who has kept/the fiction factory/running for the/few [?]years/Love from/The Boss (?)/Erle Stanley Gardner/August/1943". Octavo. [iv], 248, [4, blank] pages. Publisher's binding, dust jacket. Jacket spine lightly sunned, some minor edgewear to jacket, spine of book slightly sunned and rubbed. Overall, a near fine copy with an excellent inscription. Gardner often referred to "Jean" Bethell as the "real Della Street," after the intrepid secretary to Perry Mason. He married her in 1968 after the death of his estranged first wife.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
