    Edward T. "Ned" Guymon (1900-1983) was perhaps the most prominent and influential collector of detective fiction of the twentieth century, amassing one of the largest collections of Mystery and Detective Fiction in the world. He was close friends with many of the leading authors, including Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, and Fred Dannay who wrote under the name "Ellery Queen."
