Publisher's full tan cloth, front and spine stamped in dark brown. Original illustrated dust jacket. Top edge trimmed, others untrimmed. Mild shelf wear at extremities of binding. Regular age toning with a few spots of soiling to edges of text block; a few leaves roughly opened along bottom. A bit of chipping to jacket at spine and flap fold ends with a couple of small holes along rear flap fold; rear flap fold beginning to flake; closed tear about 2" long at front panel; a few shorter reinforced tears along edges of front and rear panels; some general toning, light rubbing to exposed panels; a bit of soiling at rear flap. Tape repairs visible at verso with two or three small splash marks. About near fine in a very good jacket. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
