    Dashiell Hammett. The Thin Man. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1934. First edition. Octavo (7.375 x 5 inches; 186 x 125 mm.). [8], 258, [2] pages. Publisher's light green cloth, front and spine stamped in dark blue and red; top edge of the text block stained purplish-red, others trimmed; in the original pictorial dust jacket, green variant. A small amount of discoloration, fading at spine ends of binding; very light shelf wear; spine ends gently pushed. Spine panel of jacket slightly sunned; a tiny bit of fraying at spine ends with some paper loss at flap fold ends; mild rubbing to exposed panels. Nearly fine with a clean, bright interior. Jacket with an orange Book-of-the-Month Club sticker (no bibliographic significance). Hammett's final novel, which went on to inspire a series of six films produced throughout the early 1930s to the late 1940s. Layman A 6.1.a. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
