    Dashiell Hammett. The Thin Man. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1934. First edition, first printing, later state dust jacket. Octavo. 258, [1], [1, imprint] pages. Publisher's aqua cloth stamped in blue and red; original illustrated dust jacket. Cloth with mottled fading, minor edgewear. Cream endpapers; some offsetting, ink ownership to the front free endpaper recto, minor soiling. Internally clean and tight, all edges trimmed, top edge stained dark brown; light intermittent foxing, text block edges somewhat worn. Dust jacket unclipped ($2.00), with review blurbs on the front flap and "Book-of-the-Month" club recommendation sticker to the front panel, moderate edgewear, chipping to head and foot of spine and corners with some losses and creasing, spine sunned, lightly rubbed and soiled. Housed in custom clamshell case; half green leather over blue cloth, spine stamped in gilt. Very good book with very good dust jacket.
