    Description

Dashiell Hammett. The Thin Man. London: Arthur Barker, 1934. First English edition (third overall). Octavo (7.375 x 4.75 inches; 187 x 122 mm.). 284, [2] pages. Publisher's orange cloth, front and spine stamped in black; all edges of the text block trimmed; in the original illustrated dust jacket. Spine slightly skewed; a bit of shelf wear at extremities of binding; corners gently bumped; spine ends gently pushed. Very good. Uncommon in jacket. Hammett's final novel, which went on to inspire a series of six films in the early 1930s through the 1940s. Layman A 6.3.
