Publisher's black cloth, front and spine stamped in green; top edge of the text block stained green, others rough-trimmed; green endpapers; in the original illustrated dust jacket, printed in red and blue on yellow paper. Mild shelf wear at extremities of binding; spine ends slightly pushed. Some scattered scratches to text block edges; normal age toning to edges and interior. Bookseller's ticket at rear pastedown. Jacket toned mildly at exposed panels with some rubbing and light wear, particularly along joint and spine folds; a few tiny chips at spine and flap fold ends and along bottom edge of rear panel; minor edge wear with a couple of short tears from bottom of front panel. Very good. Anthology featuring stories from the likes of William Faulkner, H. P. Lovecraft, and Frank Belknap Long, selected by Hammett. Layman A 5.1.a.
