Publisher's full whitish cloth; spine lettered in navy; front stamped with line-drawn bust. Original illustrated dust jacket. Edges untrimmed; top edge trimmed and stained blue. Spine ends gently pushed, top end split above title; a bit of dust-soiling along top edge. Normal age toning and light scuffing to edges of text block; untrimmed edges a bit frayed. One or two small spots of soiling scattered throughout text block. Mild sunning and rubbing to exposed panels of jacket; light wear at edges, joint and flap folds; short tear at head of front joint fold; minimal paper loss at spine and flap fold ends; a touch fraying with some soft creasing and very short tears along edges of front and rear panel; flaps clipped. An about near fine book from the author of Guys and Dolls, renowned for his stories of Broadway's criminal demi-monde. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
