Curt Jeffreys. Further Confessions of a "Con" Man. Chicago: [no date, circa 1905]. First edition.

More Information: Curt Jeffreys. Further Confessions of a "Con" Man. Chicago: M. A. Donohue & Company, [no date, circa 1905]. First edition. Octavo (7.375 x 5.125 inches; 187 x 130 mm.). 93, [3] pages; several full-page illustrations throughout; second gathering misbound with the text of second half (pages 25-32) partially trimmed. Publisher's side-stapled binding, in the original illustrated wrappers, featuring ads on the rear wrapper and the inner wrappers. Wrappers lightly soiled; spine very slightly leaning and partially creased; front joint starting to split along the bottom, with some minor paper loss; corners softly creased and rounded. Page edges with a few scattered fox marks; text very lightly tanned but still supple. Very good. The sequel to Jeffrey's Confessions of a Con-Man, a continuation of the text, starting at Chapter IX, complete as issued. Seldom seen on the market with only one auction record listed in Rare Book Hub (from 2016 with the companion volume). From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
