Cornell Woolrich. The Black Curtain. New York: Simon and Schuster, 1941. First edition, presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the preliminary blank leaf: "For Don Yates, / from his friend / Con Woolrich." Publisher's red cloth, spine lettered in white and stamped in black, Inner Sanctum device stamped in white on the front board; top edge stained black; in original dust jacket. Backstrip very faintly dulled; thin, light whitish blemish along front joint on rear board; board edges just barely rubbed; bottom corners only gently bent. Endpapers lightly foxed. Donald Yates's ownership signature to front free endpaper. Dust jacket with a few tiny nicks to spine ends and fold edges; pink ink of spine panel just a shade faded; crudely price-clipped.
