    More Information: Cornell Woolrich. The Black Curtain. New York: Simon and Schuster, 1941. First edition. Octavo (8 x 5 inches; 202 x 127 mm.). [2, blank], [viii], 305, [5, blank] pages. Publisher's gray cloth, variant binding with unknown priority (also in red, see the following lot), spine lettered in white and stamped in black, Inner Sanctum device stamped in white on the front board; top edge stained black, others trimmed; plain endpapers; in the original dust jacket, priced $2.00. Spine very slightly skewed; upper corners bumped, hard enough to cause a ripple through the top of the text block; spine ends very gently pushed. Dust jacket spine panel faded, with just traces of pink left in the title text and bottom portion; spine ends and fold edges worn with minor tears and small chips; front panel lightly rubbed with a single small bruise; routine edgewear with a few short closed tears. A near fine copy in a very good dust jacket. A nice copy of a title often seen worse for the wear.  An Inner Sanctum Mystery. Adapted for the screen in 1942 as Street of Chance, starring Burgess Meredith and Claire Trevor. The Dark Page 286. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
