    Cornell Woolrich. The Black Angel. Garden City: Doubleday, Doran and Company for The Crime Club, 1943. First edition. Octavo. [x], 300, [2, blank] pages. Publisher's black cloth, spine lettered and stamped in white, Crime Club banner stamped in white across the front board, in original dust jacket. Two white blemishes to the front board with some very faint mottling along the lower edge; crown browned; corners and spine ends very lightly worn. Front hinge starting; endpapers lightly discolored from binding glue. Dust jacket edges lightly worn with two short closed tears to the bottom of the front panel (with associated light creasing) and shallow chipping to the spine ends; rear panel lightly soiled; some minor flaking to the front flap fold. Very good. Basis for the 1946 Roy William Neill film starring Dan Duryea and Peter Lorre. The Dark Page 294. From the KoKo Collection.
