    More Information:

Clifford Knight. The Affair of the Heavenly Voice. New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1937. First edition. Octavo (7.75 x 5.4375 inches; 196 x 138 mm.). [viii], 295, [1, blank] pages; Index of Clues sheet, printed on red paper, inserted after the text, unopened on the fore-edge; first eight gatherings printed on different paper stock than the following eleven (together comprising the entire text block), the later gatherings are brighter and occasionally show faint vertical lines caused by over-lubrication of the presses. Publisher's gray cloth, spine and front board lettered in red, front board ruled in blind; top edge of the text block stained red, others rough-trimmed; illustrated endpapers with the Red Badge logo printed in red; in the original dust jacket, priced $2.00. Spine ends and corners lightly worn. Top edge of the text block lightly soiled with a few small splashes; single tiny worm hole barely affecting the fore-edge margins of the leaves with pages 83-98. Dust jacket with three short closed tear, each mended with tape on the verso, otherwise edges just lightly worn. A nearly fine copy in an attractive, very good jacket. The second Huntoon Rodges mystery, following the Red Badge prize-winning The Affair of the Scarlet Crab.

Dust jacket very lightly rubbed; edges with some light wear and a short closed tear to the crown; folds slightly creased. A near fine copy in a very good dust jacket.
