Portrait frontispiece, vignette title-page, and twelve additional inserted plates. Publisher's green cloth, spine and front stamped in gilt and black, rear stamped in black; text block edges untrimmed. Spine ends softened and worn; light wear along joints; minor rubbing visible at boards; edges a bit worn; corners tapped. Text block edges dulled with an occasional spot of foxing; top edge a bit dust-soiled; mild foxing scattered throughout interior; tissue guard between portrait and vignette title a bit tanned and attached only at upper corner. Near fine. Smith, Dickens in the Original Cloth I, 16. A Haycraft Queen Cornerstone.
