Publisher's full bright green cloth; spine lettered in black with publisher's device stamped in blind; front board ruled in blind. Original illustrated dust jacket. Top edge trimmed; others untrimmed. Slight shelf wear at extremities of binding; barely perceptible joint wear; mild discoloration at spine; spine ends gently pushed. Top edge of text block dust-soiled; regular age toning to remaining edges and interior. Jacket toned at exposed panels, particularly at spine, which is also sunned; very slight loss to paper at spine ends, tops of flap folds; a few soft creases, mostly at joint and flap folds; short split starting at bottom of front flap fold; mild tape or glue stain visible at bottom of spine at verso; flaps clipped. Near fine book in an about near fine jacket. Daly's first book to feature Vee Brown, detective turned popular songwriter. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
