Presentation copy, inscribed, "To Herbert Greenhough Smith / with best regards, from / Arthur Morrison / September 1902." Octavo. viii, 348, 40 [publisher's catalog] pages. Publisher's dark green cloth, spine and front lettered in gilt; all text block edges trimmed. Spine ends softened and slightly worn, head starting to split, foot gently rolled; boards rubbed with a trace of soiling, visible only in raking light; minor wear along bottom edges; corners bumped, with boards peeking through cloth. Text block a bit dulled with age; mild soiling along top edge; a few faint specks of foxing at endpapers; evidence of dog-earing and occasional faint smudging scattered throughout interior. Near fine. Greenhough Smith was the first editor of The Strand Magazine.
