Presentation copy, inscribed to novelist Coulson Kernahan, with an ALS laid in, "Coulson Kernahan, / in old time remembrance / from / Arthur Morrison / February 1941." Octavo. 286, [2], 12 [ads] pages. Publisher's light red cloth, spine lettered in black; all text block edges trimmed; original illustrated dust jacket. Spine ends showing just a bit of wear; foot of spine softly rolled; some faint discoloration at backstrip; trace of wear along bottom edges; corners tapped. Text block slightly yellowed with age; top edge faintly speckled and dust-soiled; specks of foxing at fore-edge; a few small ink stains at bottom edge; a bit of foxing at endpapers; front free endpaper and ALS with rust stains from paperclips, now removed; occasional spots of foxing scattered throughout interior. Jacket rubbed and soiled; edge wear resulting in chipping and creasing, as well as a handful of short tears; fairly large hole (about one inch by one inch) toward foot of spine panel; folds creased and worn; top edges of flaps rolled; uneven toning and a few faint tidemarks at verso. Near fine book in a very good jacket.
