Arthur Griffith. A Wayward Woman. London: Smith, Elder, & Co., 1879. First edition. Three volumes. Octavo. , 306, [2, ads]; , 331, ; , 315, pages. Publisher's dark blue cloth, spines stamped in gilt, boards in black; text block edges untrimmed. Backstrips dulled and discolored; spine ends crimped, pushed and fraying; wear along joints, with cloth starting to split in a few places; boards rubbed with some discoloration and soiling; edges worn; corners bumped with boards starting to peek through cloth. Text block slightly dulled; edges darkened with a couple of small stains; a few hinges splitting, but all still sound; endpapers spot- and thumbsoiled; previous owner gift inscriptions at front pastedowns; foxing, spot-soiling, small stains, and evidence of dog-earing scattered throughout interior. Very good.
