Inscribed, "For / William Swift Dallida / follower of the Master / Anthony Boucher / Beverly Hills April 24, 1940." Octavo. [8], 336 pages. In-text illustrations, plans. Publisher's full red cloth; front stamped in black with Sherlock Holmes silhouette ornament; spine lettered in black. Original illustrated dust jacket. All edges trimmed. Mild shelf wear at extremities of binding; spine ends slightly pushed. Very minor edge wear to ends of spine and flap folds of jacket with minimal chpping; two short tears at bottom edge visible only at verso. Regular faint age toning to edges and interior of text block; mild dust soiling to top edge. Slight bump to one corner of text block. Near fine. With two signed letters, two postcards (one signed "Tony" and the other initaled), and four clippings (two newspaper, two journal) laid in.
