[10], 253, [1] pages. Publisher's full black cloth; front and spine lettered in red; publisher's device stamped in blind at front board. Original illustrated jacket. All edges trimmed. Minor wear with some soiling at top and bottom edges of binding; spine ends gently pushed; soft bumping to bottom corner of front board; a bit of spoiling to boards and spine visible mostly in raking light. Normal age toning to edges of text block with a few faint stains. Barely perceptible rubbing to jacket with very light wear at flap folds; small nick to top edge of rear panel; insignificant edge wear; flaps clipped. Near fine in a clean, bright, fine jacket. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
