Publisher's full light red cloth; front and spine lettered in black; front with decorative blind-stamping. Original illustrated dust jacket with red-paper Red Badge Mystery wraparound band. Fore-edge untrimmed; others trimmed; top edge stained red. Slight skew to spine; moderate shelf wear to binding; spine ends a bit pushed; soft bumping to corners; mild rubbing to boards. Normal age toning to edges and interior of text block; top edge with spots of discoloration; bottom edge a bit rubbed. Remains from paper label pulled up at both pastedowns; faint glue residue at front free endpaper; what appear to be a series of pencil marks at rear free endpaper; evidence of dog-earing and some marginal thumbsoiling scattered throughout; spine split between pages 184 and 185, though still sound. Very mild edge wear to jacket, with light rubbing to exposed panels; flaps clipped. Tiny gouges at flap folds of wraparound band. Near fine book in a very nearly fine jacket and band.
