Publisher's full red-orange cloth, spine lettered in black. Original illustrated dust jacket. All edges trimmed. Spine slightly skewed; minimal shelf wear with an occasional soft bump to extremities of binding; spots of discoloration to backstrip; cloth at boards a touch rippled. Normal light toning to edges and interior of text block; some foxing at edges. Previous owner's penciling effaced from front free endpaper. Minimal fraying at spine and flap fold ends; light rubbing and soiling to exposed panels, with several splashes to front panel; .5" tear at head of front joint. One or two small stains at verso. Near fine. Published a couple of months after the book's first appearance in America.
