Publisher's full golden-yellow cloth, front and spine stamped in black. Top edge trimmed and stained black; others untrimmed. A bit of discoloration to spine; mild shelf wear with some bumping to corners and edges; spine ends slightly pushed; some light rubbing and soiling to boards. Normal age toning to edges and interior of text block; top edge a bit faded and rubbed. Uneven toning to endpapers; previous owner armorial bookplate tipped to front pastedown; front illustration from jacket tipped to rear pastedown; short closed tear at fore-edge of front flyleaf; some page edges roughly opened. Very good, almost near fine. Christie's first collection of short stories, and the first to feature her Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot. Queen's Quorum 71.
