Publisher's full orangey cloth; front and spine lettered in black; blind-stamped rule border at front. Fore-edge untrimmed; others trimmed. Fairly mild shelf wear to binding edges and joints; backstrip and joints a touch discolored; spine ends slightly softened and worn; soft bumping to corners; soiling and spot-staining scattered across cloth. Normal age toning to edges and interior of text block; top edge slightly dust-soiled; a bit of foxing to bottom edge. Further mild foxing to endpapers and scattered occasionally throughout interior. Very good.

    [Together with:] The Man in the Brown Suit. New York: Dodd, Mead and Company, 1924. First American edition. Octavo. [8], 275, [1] pages. Publisher's full brown cloth; front and spine lettered in dark brown; front stamped with ruled border and publisher's device in blind. Fore-edge untrimmed; others trimmed. Fairly mild wear to edges and joints of binding; spine ends gently pushed and just starting to fray; slight bumping to corners; crease and small gouge at front board; a few tiny spots of white soiling at rear. Normal moderate age toning at edges and interior of text block; top edge just a touch dust-soiled; bottom edge a bit rubbed. Endpapers unevenly toned; spine splitting but still sound between half-title and title. About near fine.

    [And:] The Secret of Chimneys. New York: Dodd, Mead and Company, 1925. First American edition. Octavo. viii, [2], 310 pages. Publisher's full purplish-navy cloth; front and spine lettered in red; front stamped with ruled border and publisher's device in blind. Fore-edge untrimmed; others trimmed; top edge stained red. Slight skew to spine; fairly mild shelf and joint wear to binding; backstrip a touch sunned; spine ends softened; bump to bottom edge; fair amount of rubbing to boards. Normal age toning to edges and interior of text block; general light rubbing with a few small abrasions; staining a bit faded. Previous owner signature effaced from front pastedown; small tidemark at fore-edge of last few leaves; occasional small bump to corners. Very good.
