First edition, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper: "To Rex Beasley / [flourish] / Agatha Christie." Octavo (7.1875 x 4.75 inches; 183 x 120 mm.). 256 pages. Publisher's red paper-covered boards, spine lettered in gilt, boards ruled and stamped in black; in the original dust jacket, trimmed slightly shorter than the binding. Spine cocked and bumped; spine ends pushed; crown faintly discolored; two small divots to the upper edge of the front board; bottom corners tapped. Some page edges worn with creases or bruising, as well as a couple small interior holes, potentially caused by biopredation; front hinge starting. Dust jacket spine panel dulled; front panel with a few small bruises and faint spots; general light soiling; edges lightly worn with a couple nicks at the fold edges. About very good.
