Octavo. [8], [359], [1, blank] pages. Frontispiece and fourteen (out of fifteen, lacking the plate facing page 118, "Welcome, Sir Henry") inserted plates on coated paper by Sidney Paget. Publisher's full red cloth, front board and spine stamped in gilt, front board with black hound silhouette, all edges trimmed. Cloth spine sunned, rubbed and somewhat thumbsoiled, boards rubbed and thumbsoiled, with wear to corners. Endleaves toned, thumbsoiled and somewhat foxed, embossed stamp on upper corner of front free endpaper. Text toned, a few gutters overopened, several lower inner corners creased, some upper corners creased, some thumbsoiling and foxing in text. Fair. Housed in quarter red morocco clamshell case.
