[viii], 358, [1], [1, blank] pages. Frontispiece and fifteen inserted plates on coated paper by Sidney Paget. Publisher's pictorial red cloth stamped in gilt and black, spine stamped in gilt. Corners just bumped and rubbed, minor edgewear, partially sprung, spine sunned, somewhat rubbed. Cream endpapers; foxed with some offsetting, early ink ownership to front free endpaper recto, penciled bookseller's notation to rear pastedown. Internally generally clean; a few gutters overextended, minor intermittent foxing, text block edges toned with minor wear and soiling, two small dampstains to top edge but not extending into text block. Housed in custom red and navy cloth clamshell case, spine lettered in gilt. Very good.
