"Waters." Recollections of a Detective Police-Officer. Second Series. London: W. Kent & Co., 1859. First edition. Twelvemo. [8], 262, [2, ads] pages. Publisher's original yellow pictorial paper-covered boards; all text block edges trimmed; advertisement endpapers. Spine leaning and a bit misshapen, with chipping at ends and at middle toward front joint; backstrip very slightly dulled with two small cracks running from joint to joint, and a bit of further creasing and tiny spots of soiling; some short splits starting to appear along joints; boards rubbed and lightly soiled; wear with some loss to paper along edges; corners bumped. Text block very softly dulled with age, particularly at edges; top edge darkened; two small labels at front pastedown, one largely torn away; item previously tipped to front free endpaper removed, leaving a narrow strip of glue and paper residue at joint; occasional faint speck or smudge of soiling scattered throughout interior. Very good. Housed in custom brown cloth chemise in brown cloth-covered slipcase.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
