[Pierre] Boileau, [Thomas] Narcejac. Celle qui n'était plus... Paris: [1952]. True first edition, basis for the film Diabolique.

    More Information:

[Pierre] Boileau - [Thomas] Narcejac. Celle qui n'était plus...  ("She Who Was No More"). Paris: Denoël, [1952]. True first edition. Small octavo. 240, [2] pages. Original publisher's printed wrappers, dust jacket. Some rubbing, minor thumbsoiling to jacket, some rubbing, toning to wrappers and text. Skewed. Still, a near fine copy of this fragile item. With the original wraparound publisher's band (band is complete, but was torn open).

This novel was the basis of the 1955 classic psychological thriller Les Diaboliques (or Diabolique) directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot. It is rumored that Clouzot beat Hitchcock for the rights to this novel by only a few hours. This led Hitchcock to buy the rights to Boileau - Narcejac's next novel, D'Entre Les Morts, before it was published (later filmed as Vertigo).

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
