[Erle Stanley Gardner]. Collection of Personal Items. Gardner's Smith & Wesson Model 36 Double Action Revolver. Serial no. 133347, .38 caliber, 2-inch barrel with serrated front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued finish. Case-hardened hammer and trigger. Right side of frame features ERLE STANLEY GARDNER and light scroll engraved. Smooth rosewood grip panels with inlaid S&W medallions. Contained in factory pasteboard box with cleaning tool. Good. Retaining approximately 85-90% finish with thinning to relief edges, scattered handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Few scuffs and dings to grips; half-inch crack to top corner of right grip panel. Action crisp. Bright bore. Normal age and storage wear to box.NOTE: This lot falls under the Gun Control Act of 1968 and can only be delivered to a buyer who meets Federal and State requirements. [Together with:] Pewter Flask. [Abercrombie & Fitch, no date] Approximately 8 x 4.5 x 1.25 inches (with lid). Gardner's initials engraved on front. Screwtop lid is present. The usual wear. Very good.
[and:] Silver-plated copper cigarette case. [Victorian Plate E. P. Copper, no date]. Cigarette case with hinged lid. Approximately 7 x 3.5 x 1.5 inches. Lid engraved to Gardner: "Erle Stanley Gardner / from Edward J. Donovan / Aug. 1939." Laid-in is a photocopy of a letter stating that Donovan was a struggling writer who received advice from Gardner, hence the cigarette case. Some tarnishing to case (especially on the interior), still, very good. Includes an inscribed first edition copy of Neighboring Frontiers.

Presentation copy, inscribed by Gardner on half-title: "To Lew with all/good wishes from/Uncle Erle/Erle Stanley Gardner/At Rancho del/Paisano/June 1961". Large octavo. 272 pages. Illustrated. Publisher's full blue cloth, front board and spine stamped in red, dust jacket. Jacket toned, chipped, and worn, some sunning, mild wear to binding. Very good.
Erle Stanley Gardner (1889-1970) was a lawyer and a prolific author, most famous for the creation of the sleuthing attorney, Perry Mason. He also wrote books under a variety of pen-names, including A. A. Fair, Kyle Corning, Charles M. Green, etc. During his lifetime, Gardner was one of the most successful writers in the United States.

Background checks and form 4473 are not necessary if the individual
holds a valid Federal Firearms
CHL (Concealed Handgun License) holders will be required to fill
out a form 4473.
Firearms can be shipped to Texas resident with an FFL or Collectors
of Curios & Relics License ( C & R).
Collectors of Curios License holders are allowed to purchase
specific guns as regulated by the GCA.
Texas residents who do not have a valid FFL license or C & R must
provide an FFL dealer to handle the transfer his firearms.
Requirements for Out of State Residents
Please be aware of the changes in the laws of your state. Heritage
is not responsible if you are the buyer and later find you cannot
receive the item you have purchased.
Provide a valid FFL license or a Collectors & Curios license. It

An unlicensed person must have a licensed FFL holder fax a copy of
that holders license to our Firearms Department. ( Fax:

An unlicensed person will need to fill out and fax a Transfer Form
specifying the FFL holder he wants to handle his firearms
transfer
The firearms will then be transferred to the FFL licensee.
A transfer agent will often charge $25 -50 to handle the transfer.
