[Dorothy L. Sayers, as Peter Wimsey]. Autograph Letter, Signed. Norfolk: May 21, 1936. Original letter.
[Dorothy L. Sayers]. Autograph Letter Written as Lord Peter Wimsey to E. C. Bentley, as His Detective, Philip Trent. Norfolk: unpublished correspondence, May 21, 1936. Signed. Single leaf with holograph letter on recto, finished at head of verso. Sayers, as Wimsey, congratulates Trent on his return (Trent's Own Case, sequel to the first Trent novel, appeared in 1936): "I scarcely know on which to congratulate you more - your return, or the manner of it. It is delightful to have you back...." Two creases, one horizontal and one vertical, from folding, with a few tiny holes starting at center down bottom half of vertical fold, and splits starting from fold ends, the deepest only 1.5 inches; some general, minor rumpling from handling; creases and bottom half of leaf (two panels exposed when sheet was folded) lightly rubbed and soiled at verso, with some penciling and inking. Very good.
