[2, blank], [1]-317, [318], [2, blank] pages. Twelve tipped-in color plates. Seventeen black and white full-page illustrations. Publisher's parchment over boards, central gilt motif on front board, gilt lettering on spine, top edge gilt with other edges untrimmed. Pictorial endpapers. Boards somewhat splayed, spine and outer margins of front board mildly darkened, minor soiling along outer margins of boards, board edges a bit rubbed and worn. Text block a bit shaken, edges toned lightly, slightly over-opened at page 94, terminal blank leaf and rear endpaper stained along inner margin. Very good with bright, clean text and illustrations.
