    Oley Speaks

    Bound Album containing thirteen songs by Oley Speaks (1874-1948), American composer and concert baritone. The songs, issued separately by G. Schirmer from 1910 through 1913, were collected by Miss Ethel Crane, to whom Oley Speaks dedicated the second song in the collection "Charity." The collection was custom bound for her, bears her monogram on the front cove, and on a flyleaf is signed and dated by Oley Speaks. Oley Speaks. Three Songs With Piano Accompaniment. 1.     Large folio (13 5/16 x 10 3/16 inches; 338 x 258 mm.). Contemporary half red leather over marbled boards. Spine in six compartments with five raised bands. Front cover lettered in gilt: "Songs by Oley Speaks." and "E. C." on the lower corner.
    Binding slightly rubbed. Scratch on front cover. Leather darkened. Occasional thumb soiling. Over-opened in a few places. From the library of John Carroll Collins.
