    Two folio volumes. Approximately 13.75 x 8.25 inches. [2, blank], [2], [viii], 286; [4], ii, 204 pages. Bound in contemporary mottled paneled calf, covers ruled and paneled in gilt, gilt floral cornerpieces. Both volumes rebacked, preserving the original spine, spines tooled in gilt in compartments, brown morocco gilt lettering labels, six raised bands, gilt board edges, marbled endleaves. Some wear to bindings, text somewhat foxed and soiled. Overall, a very good set. Housed in cloth clamshell case (front joint cracked).

    Henry Purcell (1659-1695) was an English Baroque composer, and one of the finest and most successful in English music.
