First editions. Quarto. [8], 114, [6], [8], [xxiv], 432, 17 [Supplement], [1, Catalogue] pages. With two engraved folding tables, engraved diagrams intended as overslips to pp. 28, 32, and 34, but all three are uncut on the same leaf and bound after the folding tables, with a separate overslip tipped-in to the verso of the engraved diagrams leaf, and many type-set music examples in the text. Contemporary mottled calf, spine gilt in compartments, red leather spine label lettered in gilt. Marbled endpapers. Edges sprinkled red. Minor wear to the edges. Partially split joints. Minor scattered foxing. Uneven toning to some leaves. Very good. From the collection of a gentleman of New York.
