    Handel's Organ Concertos

    [George Friderich] Handel. Six Concertos For the Harpsicord or Organ compos'd by Mr. Handel. London: Printed for I. Walsh in Catherine Street in the Strand. Of whom may be had The Instrumental Parts to the above Six Concertos, [n.d., ca. 1761 or later].
    Folio (12.625 x 9.375 inches; 321 x 237 mm.). Engraved title (verso blank), [1, blank], 2-48 pages. Engraved throughout. Page [19] is blank.
    Later brown cloth. Smooth spine with burgundy leather label ruled and lettered in gilt. Pastedowns quite stained from glue. Paper browned, especially at edges. Short tear to lower margin of pages [19]/20 and 33/34. First leaf with music creased in several places. A very good copy.
    "These Six Concertos were Publish'd by Mr. Walsh from my own Copy Corrected by my Self, and to Him only I have given my Right therein. George Frideric Handel."
    William C. Smith and Charles Humphries, Handel: A Descriptive Catalogue of the Early Editions (London: Cassell, [1960]), No. 10 (page 266): "Modern sharps are found on p. 30 (in score), and both modern sharps (in the figured bass) and an old style sharp (in score) are found on p. 39."
    "From the plates of No. 9, but on smaller paper, and with pp. 10, 26, 27, 30 and 39 from new plates two of which have the new modern form of sharp, which Walsh did not use until 176061" (Smith).
