    A Beautiful Collection of Eight Large "Muragraph" Chromolithographs of Historical Subjects by Milo Winter

    Milo Winter. A Beautiful Collection of Eight Large Chromolithograph Prints of Historical Figures. Chicago: [n.d., ca. 1940's]. Eight large folio sheets. Approximately 35 x 26 inches. Each with the printed legend "Original Muragraph" on the lower left margin. Some toning and moderate wear to edges. Still, a fine set. Subjects include: Edward, Black Prince; Robin Hood; Saint Francis of Assisi; Joan of Arc; Galileo; Alexander the Great; Leif Ericsson and Peter the Great. He had done at least ten subjects (including William Caxton and Queen Elizabeth I, both of which are lacking), which were commissioned to appear in schools or libraries for educational purposes.
    Milo Winter (1888-1956) was a successful book illustrator, illustrating such books as Aesop's Fables, Tanglewood Tales and Arabian Nights.
