Publisher's quarter red cloth over red paper-covered boards, front board has author's name stamped in blind on lower quarter, spine stamped in silver and gilt, dust jacket. Boards and spine dampstained with color-fading on spine, cloth on spine slightly wrinkled, edges faintly rubbed. Text block partially cockled, top and lower edges somewhat dampstained with a bit of color staining, edges mildly foxed, preliminary and terminal leaves lightly foxed; upper and lower edges of endpapers as well as multiple preliminary and terminal leaves color-stained. Dust jacket dampstained and rubbed on large portion of recto, verso color-stained, flap versos with minor foxing. A good, sound copy with an affectionate inscription from the author to his third (and "best") wife, Jane. From the estate of Mickey Spillane.
