    More Information:

Harris, James (1709-1780), philosopher and musical patron. "Harris's philosophical and literary studies centered on the classical writers, and his many friends helped to track down both manuscripts and printed texts and to obtain copies; the area of search was extended when his son embarked on his diplomatic career abroad. A more recent and particularly strong influence was his uncle the moral philosopher Anthony Ashley Cooper, third earl of Shaftesbury, whom he never knew but whose son, the fourth earl, was a frequent and intimate correspondent. [This work]... provided him with the nickname by which he was frequently known, Hermes Harris."[Oxford DNB] "His general theory is that language, both spoken and written, and the thought processes it reflects, reveal a universality found not only in language but in Nature itself. Of even greater interest, Harris also maintains that logical categories are the deep structure not only of grammar and literary language, but of all human intellectual operations...

Harris' ideas have been noted as strikingly similar to those of Ferdinand de Saussure (langue/parole) and Chomsky (competence and performance). [Dict. of 18th c. British Philosophers.]

Thurot, Francois, (1768-1832), occupied the chair of ancient Greek philosophy at the College de France. His translations were known for their excellence of scholarly apparatus, fidelity, and simplicity. This translation was made at the order of French Directory. It is much more than a translation with extensive notes and commentary by Thurot.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
