    More Information:

Bougeant (1690-1743) Jesuit, author of histories, plays, theological works; taught in Jesuit colleges. This was his most famous work but was frowned on by his Jesuit Order, so much so, he was put in prison. "Ce livre, dans lequel il soutient que les demons animent les brutes, est adresse ˆ une femme, et seme de madrigaux qui scandaliserent les devots, et qui ne parurent pas assez lŽgers aux gens du monde. Cependant, si l'on en croit un auteur janseniste, le jesuite avait nautant etudie le langue de lagalanterie que celui des betes." [Hoefer]. The added letters here are defenses of his work. Le Noble (1643-1711) Procureur general au Parlement Metz, prolific author; he was falsely accused and put in prison, there he became the lover of Gabrielle Pereau "la belle Epiciere". He escaped but was recaptured and banished. He was an indefatigable author. Gay/Lemmonyer says of this work "Mauvais poeme sur une aventure sans interet. Le doctuer Deneux, qui possedait cet ouvrage, en formait une classe distincte dans l'hygiene: Excreta."         Bougeant: Barbier I,156. De Backer/Sommmervogel I,1876:16. Rosenthal, Magica, 5211. Caillet 1511 "Rare." Le Noble: Barbier I,97.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
